Tellurium Dioxide Acousto-Optical Crystals

Main features of our TeO2 are as follows:

bullet large boule sizes: up to 70 mm in dia. at 30 mm length along < 110> axis which is growth direction or 45 - 50 mm dia. at 70 mm length;
bullet high crystals homogeneity controlled at blanks preparation stage by shadowgraphy (Schlieren) or interference methods;
bullet low optical beam scattering, no bubbles or inclusions are observed in the crystals volume under 10x microscope;
bullet small optical absorption and, accordingly, high optical power capability exceeding 5W of CW Argon ion laser for standard A grade material and approaching 15 - 20 W for selected A grade grown from highest purity charge;
bullet exclusively good mechanical properties of crystals due to special “know-how” elements of crystal growth and annealing process. As a result the crystals are “soft” and have no tendency to cracking in cutting, grinding, polishing procedures as well as during transducers bonding.

AO elements which we supply are manufactured as a rule according to customers specifications and have the following features:

bullet wide sizes range from as small as 5 x 5 x 10 mm to as large as 25 x 25 x 50 mm;
bullet X-ray orientations of crystals according to any customer’s specifications with accuracy up to 1.5 arc. min.;
bullet high quality polishing: up to 10/5 Scratch/Dig per MIL-013830A with l /4 flatness and 20 arc. sec. parallelism (best parameters);
bullet single wavelength or broadband AR coatings are available according to MIL-C-14806A with less than 0.5% reflectivity per surface for broadband and 0.2% for single wavelength coating;
bullet technical consultant service is available. Our specialists can calculate and offer you the most reasonable configuration of AO element depending on your application. Typical elements we produce are applied in modulators (including multichannel), deflectors (including 2D), AOTF.

Del Mar Photonics offers optical elements made of high quality synthetically grown Rutile Titanium Dioxide crystals. Rutile’s strong birefringency, wide transmission range and good mechanical properties make it suitable for fabrication of polarizing cubes, prisms and optical isolators. Boules having high optical transmission and homogeneity are grown by proprietary method. Typical boules have 10 - 15 mm in dia. and up to 25 mm length. Optical elements sizes - from 2 x 2 x 1 mm to 12.7 x 12.7 x 12.7 mm. Laser grade polish quality is available for finished elements. So far we the largest elements that we manufactured are 12 x15 x 5 mm, in which optical axis is parallel to 15 mm edge, 5 mm is along beam path, 12 x 15 mm faces polished 20/10 S/D, one wave flatness, parallelism < 3 arc.min.
